SHURIKEN
Shuriken big wheel derailleur cart was designed to be the best of the best . The main design goal was to increase the efficiency of the drivetrain. Larger wheels reduce drivetrain friction, not only because they rotate at a lower RPM, but also reduce chain angle.
Shuriken improves drivetrain performance regardless of speed, power and riding conditions
The Shuriken system is designed for maximum performance without compromise.
- Specially developed, grease-filled TBT ceramic bearings provide durability and low friction.
- Special tooth profile allows the upper sprocket to move quickly and the lower sprocket to run exceptionally smooth
- Coated with PVD material for low friction and a striking appearance.
- Spring mounting holes with three pins for a wide range of cage/chain tension adjustment.
The Shuriken pulley system can be installed by any experienced mechanic. The tool needed is a good quality T15 torx
Although the Shuriken needs an average of two extra links, we recommend keeping the original chain length. After installing the pulley, carefully try all the gears and see if you need to add additional chain links or use a completely new chain.
We all know that a larger pulley has less resistance because it spins slower. However, the top puck has a limit. If it is much larger than the orginale, adjusting the B-bolt becomes difficult because the caster tooth touches the largest tooth (sprocket) and degrades shifting performance, and may even eventually damage the drivetrain. Our R&D shows that 12T is the best balance at the top of the carriage, and the lower 19T is ideal for performance and lightness.
Chain noise usually comes from the lower sprocket because the chain enters it at different angles. Shuriken's 19T bottom sprocket is designed for super smooth operation and is as quiet as plastic.
