Exalith is manufactured with a chemical treatment that strengthens the rim profile, making it less susceptible to wear on the braking surface. It reduces braking distances by 18% compared to a conventional aluminum alloy rim in wet and dry conditions.
The rim is designed from a clever blend of aluminum alloy and carbon and has an aerodynamic NACA profile (45 mm high, 25 mm wide) for low drag and stability in side winds. Carbon increases lateral stiffness for instant acceleration, while the aluminum braking surface provides reliable braking with a stable tire platform. Exclusive Maxtal alloy and ISM (Inter Spoke Milling) technology saves weight without sacrificing durability.
A new patented aerodynamic spoke shape saves extra watts, and the rear hub features a 360 Instant Drive drum for a slick connection, super-smooth bearings and high durability.
