Shimano Ultegra RD R8000 rear road derailleur

The new Shimano Ultegra R8000 road group offers improved performance and handling characteristics compared to its predecessor, the 6800 group, mainly due to the use of technologies that until now were reserved exclusively for the top Shimano Dura Ace group. We're talking about improved disc brakes, more ergonomic handlebars, Synchro Shift technology, or a more aerodynamic front derailleur. Designed for racing, training and high-performance riding. The new Ultegra group rises to any challenge. And all this at a more affordable price compared to the top-of-the-line Dura Ace group.

The new Ultegra rear derailleurs in both the RD-R8000 mechanical and RD- R8050 electric versions have adopted the Shadow RD low-profile design from the Dura Ace group. This allows the entire derailleur to fit "under" the cassette" and reduces the possibility of damage in a crash. The rear derailleur comes in a short SS carriage capable of handling 11-25T, and 11-30T cassettes, as well as a longer GS carriage designed to handle wider cassettes (up to 28T and 34T, respectively). The two Di2 electronic derailleurs communicate with each other to operate in Synchronized Shifting mode as appropriate, allowing the user to concentrate fully on riding.
