Tubeless Ready

The side blocks are borrowed from the well-known High Roller, but have been reinforced to prevent them from wrapping when reaching the highest cornering loads. Most distinctive are the small blocks that fill the tread where most tires have empty space, which is between the center and side blocks. This was precisely Greg's idea for maximum grip in corners.

The Maxxis Assegai tire is named after an iron spear used by the Zulus of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, a native of South Africa, thought it was a fitting name for a tire ready for mountain combat. The tall blocks cut through dust and loose pavement to find traction, but also offer support and confidence on wet roots and rocks. While other tires excel only in certain conditions, the new Maxxis Assegai is built to go fast anywhere.

WT - Wide Trail - A tire optimized to work with a 35mm inner width rim.

DH CASING (BUTYL INSERT) - An extra piece of butyl rubber that extends from the wire bead up to the tire sidewall. The insert prevents tube punctures, tears, protects the rim from impacts and increases the stability of the tire sidewall.

3C Maxx Grip - Designed for DH tires. Maxx Grip offers excellent grip and less rebound effect along with unmatched traction.

TR - Tubeless Ready - TR tires have all the features of tubeless tires except one, they are much lighter. They are the only Maxxis tires designed for use with sealant
