The combination of a 35mm inner width and Stan's patented ultra-low profile sidewall means the Baron MK3 rims maintain technical control over the wheel while rolling faster than conventional rim designs. The low-profile rim shape is also very friendly when fitting tires.

Bead Socket technology provides a safer air interface between the tire and rim. Unlike the secure BST design, conventional shapes put a bit of tire deep into the rim, putting pressure on the sidewalls. BST rims secure the tire bead, not the sidewall, creating a tight seal, while the tire sidewall expands into a true, rounder, more efficient profile. The result is more traction and less rolling resistance. With a lower profile, less sensitive sidewall, BST rims are also lighter and stronger by design and accelerate faster.
