The inner link plates have smoothly rounded shapes, without any sharp edges or notches, which is significantly quieter, reduces friction and gear wear, and allows the drive to endure operation at higher bevels. It also allows the use of flatter outer plates which improves riveting efficiency by strengthening the chain. Hard Chrome technology increases elongation resistance by a factor of four, and the titanium nitride surface finish reduces susceptibility to corrosion and further lowers friction.
