What's new is the 11-speed drivetrain and new configurations that will allow each rider to choose the right gearing configured specifically for their needs. Hollowtech II
Shmano uses the Hollowtech system in its products. It consists in the use of hollow crank arms this solution increases stiffness and reduces weight. An extension of this patent is Hollowtech II, which is a bottom bracket axle integrated into the right arm. In lower groups such as Deore, Shimano abandoned hollow arms despite the integrated bottom bracket axle, such a solution was called 2-Piece-Crankset.
