The Cosmic Elite is the ideal starting point for high-level racing. This all-new UST Road tubeless system provides a smoother ride and better puncture resistance, while remaining lightweight during climbing and acceleration.
By removing the tube, we've also removed friction - so rolling resistance is lower, meaning it requires less energy to reach higher speeds. The UST system, including a sealant to increase the tires' puncture resistance, is also 40 grams lighter than a traditional tube-and-tire system. Wind tunnel testing led us to create a rim that is 30 mm deep to optimize aerodynamic performance and improve stability in side winds. The aluminum rim benefits from our unparalleled experience, creating lightweight but strong rim profiles. We do this by carefully adjusting the rim wall thickness to hit the weak spot between stiffness, strength and weight.
It's also designed specifically for disc brakes, with straight spokes with steel blades that are stronger than traditional J-bend spokes, which are paired with our strongest hub platform running on smooth QRM bearings.
Our extensive wind tunnel testing led us to create a 30mm deep rim that optimizes aerodynamic performance and improves stability in side winds. The rim wall thickness is carefully tuned to hit the sweet spot between stiffness, strength and weight.
Pedaling torque is further enhanced with our ID360 freewheel system - lightweight, smooth, stiff and easy to service. This hub easily converts from Shimano / SRAM to Campagnolo or XD cassette.
