The BioKork GP1 provides superior ergonomics for the hand like the rest of Ergon's Performance Comfort series, but the unique properties of the cork make them antibacterial and hypoallergenic. The natural damping qualities of cork also make them an ideal steering wheel grip material and its density means that the resulting grip is much lighter. BioKork GP1 uses 40% cork sourced from sustainably grown cork in Portugal, which is certified for organic production. The inner core is made of plastic reinforced with natural fiber, which makes up 40% of its weight. Vegetable oil was used in place of mineral oil, which was used in the gel part of the grip.The clamp can be 100% recycled. This is all the result of Ergon's initiative in the "GreenLab" - eco-friendly trend in manufacturing.
