The CeramicSpeed UFO SRAM AXS Road chain is an option for road cyclists who primarily like to race. The product is eagerly used by professionals - mainly because of the performance it provides. Using ceramic as the main material, it saves 2 to 5 watts over a distance of 600 kilometers (or 370 miles).

Tests in the laboratories of the American accessory manufacturer SRAM Group have shown that the chain, in combination with the highest accessory groups, can increase pedaling efficiency and reduce the time needed to reach top speed by as much as 25%. This is of incredible importance in race riding, especially in sprints.

To facilitate service operations, the model can be freely unbolted in any conditions. All thanks to a special pin made with SRAM Quick Link technology.

Assembly:

Installing the new optimized chain is no different from installing any other chain.

Note that the chain is coated with Teflon® powder, which may dissipate when removed from the bag. Use the set of gloves provided in the package and make sure you cover the floor when installing the CeramicSpeed UFO racing chain. Always connect the chain using the supplied connecting link. We do not recommend reusing the connecting pin. A chain tool is required to install the chain. Shorten the chain to the optimal length.

When cutting the chain with the chain tool, remember that the cut must be made so that the ends of the chain are inner plates. Attach the two pieces of the link where the link rivet fits into the hole of the link plate, and then pull the chain to activate the locking mechanism

Maintenance:

For a distance of 600 km / 370 miles, in order to enjoy the full benefits of the CeramicSpeed UFO racing chain, the chain must not be washed before the mileage is exceeded. However, if the chain needs cleaning, use a dry cloth or soft brush and carefully remove the dirt from the chain. When removing the chain for maintenance or cleaning, remember to reinstall it in the same direction as before. For mild showers where the chain has not been exposed to water for more than a few minutes, the properties of the chain should not be affected.

For light showers, we recommend applying UFO Drip Chain Coating, after wiping off excess Teflon powder with a dry cloth if it remains on the chain. Wait for the UFO Drip Coating to dry before riding.

In case of heavy rain, you should coat your chain with protective grease on the UFO surface. This will slightly affect the savings in watts, but will protect the chain while improving performance.

After 600 km / 370 miles, the chain can be serviced, keeping in mind that traces of optimization remain on the chain. When using UFO drip coating after 600 km / 370 miles, follow the instructions on the bottle. Note that a huge watt savings of 2-5 watts is achieved during the first 600 km / 370 miles and decreases slightly after the UFO treatment.
